Bengaluru have closed gates for Baahubali Release on April 28...
After the Cauvery water sharing issue, pro-Kannada organisations in Bengaluru have now set their eyes on the forthcoming release of Bahubali 2.
Protesting against the release of Bahubali 2 in the state, several Kannada organisations led by former MLA Vatal Nagaraj have called for a day-long bandh on April 28.The anger of Kannada organisations is against Sathyaraj (in pic) who is enacting the role of Kattappa in the movie.
Addressing media persons, Vatal Nagaraj said, “Our dissent is not against the movie Bahubali but against Sathyaraj who had made derogatory comments on Kannadigas and Karnataka leaders. We want him to apologise to the people of Karnataka and only then will we allow the screening.“
However, Bahubali 2 director SS Rajamouli has clarified that Sathyaraj had made those comments nine years ago and till now, around 30 films starring Sathyaraj have been released in the state. “Linking his old remarks that were made several years ago with the current scenario and posing an obstacle to the release of movie is not in the interest of the industry,“ Rajamouli said.
On the day of the protest, Kannada organisations will take out a protest march from Town Hall to Freedom Park.
“The entire city will be shut from dawn to dusk expressing solidarity with the cause,“ Nagaraj said.
